About Letshuoer
Founded around 2018 in Dongguan, China, Letshuoer (sometimes stylised as LETSHUOER or ShuoEr) is a Chi-Fi IEM manufacturer that made a dramatic impact on the budget audiophile market with their planar magnetic IEMs. While planar magnetic technology was historically reserved for full-size headphones costing $1,000+, Letshuoer helped bring planar IEMs to the mainstream at prices that made the technology accessible to enthusiasts on modest budgets. Letshuoer's sonic tuning leans toward revealing, detailed, and fast — characteristics inherent to planar magnetic drivers. Their S12 (and later S12 Pro) single planar IEM became one of the most discussed budget IEMs of 2022-2023, offering a planar presentation with extraordinary transient speed and detail at under $200 AUD. The flagship EJ07M, a tribrid IEM with planar, balanced armature, and dynamic drivers, showcased their ability to compete at higher price points. The range includes the S12 and S12 Pro (single planar, budget), D13 (dynamic driver, entry), Cadenza series (mid-range), and the EJ07M (tribrid flagship). The S12 Pro, with its tuning refinements over the original, is widely considered one of the best planar IEMs under $300 AUD. Each model targets a specific price-to-performance sweet spot in the competitive Chi-Fi landscape. Letshuoer matters because they were instrumental in the 'planar IEM revolution' of 2022-2023, proving that planar magnetic technology could be manufactured at Chi-Fi prices without unacceptable compromises. The S12's success spawned dozens of competing planar IEMs from other brands, fundamentally changing the budget IEM market. The trade-off is the typical planar weakness (bass impact can feel lean compared to dynamic drivers), QC consistency that varies between production runs, and a brand name that Westerners find hard to remember and spell.
